Ages that don't line up
One kid's doing homework, the other's fingerpainting. We plan the session so each one gets real attention, not just supervision.
Two kids · three kids · sibling bookings
Booking a babysitter for two or three kids isn't the same as booking for one. Different ages, different routines, different bedtimes, different homework loads. Brooklyn Sitters does multi-child sessions every week — siblings at different grade levels, a toddler plus a school-age kid, two under four. The price scales honestly: $28/hr for two, +$3/hr for each additional child. No per-child premium, no surprise surcharge. One sitter who actually knows how to move between kids without either one feeling shortchanged. For twins specifically, we send both of us — one per twin — which has its own page.
Why us
One kid's doing homework, the other's fingerpainting. We plan the session so each one gets real attention, not just supervision.
Bath, dinner, bedtime — kids with different schedules still get their routine run properly. Nobody's waiting on the sibling.
$25 one child, $28 two, +$3/hr per additional. Flat rate regardless of age. No "multi-child fee" beyond that.
We don't pick sides, we don't escalate fights. Calm, consistent, fair — the kind of adult a sibling set actually needs.

Common questions
$28/hr for two children, regardless of ages. For three kids it's $31/hr, four is $34/hr — $3 per additional child on top of the two-kid rate. A small travel surcharge applies for some neighborhoods.
Yes, and it's what we do most nights. The real question is age range. Two school-age siblings are easy; a newborn plus a toddler plus a 7-year-old is a lot even with two sitters. Tell us the ages when you book and we'll tell you honestly whether one sitter is enough.
Twins usually get two sitters — one per twin. Parallel routines, undivided attention each. See the dedicated twins page for how that booking works.
Yes — that's the whole point. Share each kid's routine (order, length, lights-out time) when you book and we run them properly. Usually starts with the youngest; older kid reads while the little one is going down.
That's the thing we watch for most. Rotating attention, planned activities that scale across ages, making sure the quieter kid gets real engagement too. We've done this enough to know the signs and adjust.
Three kids is our practical ceiling for one sitter, and only if the age range is reasonable. Four or more — or three with a baby — and we either send two sitters or tell you that we're not the right shape for that booking.
