Brownstone Brooklyn at its most storied
Brooklyn Heights is one of the oldest and most landmarked neighborhoods in the country — tree-lined brownstone streets, the Promenade with its unobstructed view of Lower Manhattan, and a compact, walkable grid running from Atlantic Avenue up to Cadman Plaza. For families, the anchor is Brooklyn Bridge Park: the massive waterfront build-out with dedicated playgrounds at Pier 1, Pier 5, and Pier 6, Jane's Carousel, summer concerts, and the roller rink at LeFrak Center down toward Prospect Park. The neighborhood's private-school density is unusual for New York — Packer, Saint Ann's, Brooklyn Friends, Brooklyn Heights Montessori are all here — which shapes the school-bookend hours of a lot of our after-school bookings.
