Event Babysitters in Brooklyn

Hosting a dinner, a birthday, a small gathering? Brooklyn Sitters covers event-night childcare — the kids get their own sitter and their own corner of the house, the adults get to actually be adults, and nobody has to manage a tantrum during dessert. We bring activities and stay engaged the whole time. Not a hands-off sit-on-the-couch watching; real play, meal coordination with your timeline, and a bedtime handoff when the party winds down. Talk to us about the event type and guest-count of kids — we'll tell you what staffing makes sense.

Why us

Why Brooklyn parents choose us for events.

Kid-side of the event, fully handled

You host the adults. We run the kids' side — activities, meals, bedtime if the event runs late. You don't have to check in.

Two sitters when the kid-count warrants

More than three kids or a wide age range usually means we send both of us. We'll tell you up front; no surprise add-ons mid-event.

Works with your event timeline

Dinner's at 7, cake's at 8:30, bedtime at 9 — we follow the flow you set. We're not trying to run our own schedule.

Common questions

Events FAQ.

What kind of events do you cover?

Home-based events mostly: birthdays, dinner parties, holiday gatherings, bat/bar mitzvah home receptions, Shabbat dinners with visiting families. For weddings or big venue events, a dedicated wedding-childcare agency is better suited.

How many kids can one sitter handle at an event?

Two or three comfortably. Beyond that, or with a mix of infants and older kids, we send both Becky and Shelly.

Do you bring supplies?

A small kit — books, crayons, a craft. For a birthday or themed event, tell us the setup and we'll work into whatever you've already planned.

What if the event runs late?

Late-night coverage up to 3 AM is available — just flag it when you book. We bill the extra hours at the same rate.

Can we use you for corporate events or off-site?

We stick to in-home events in Brooklyn. Corporate and off-site childcare is a different model than ours; we'd be a poor fit.

How early should I book for an event?

Two weeks for weekend events. A month or more for holiday-season gatherings. Shorter notice sometimes works — ask.
