Mother's Day · Brooklyn
The actual present isn't flowers.
Mother's Day brunch with the kids isn't a gift to Mom — it's the same Sunday she has every week, just with a receipt. Four uninterrupted hours, where she doesn't hear the word "Mom" once. That's the gift.
Three honest variants
The morning slot
Sitter at 9. Mom sleeps in. The kids do their own thing with someone who isn't triaging their needs while trying to make coffee. Mom comes downstairs at 11 to a quiet apartment.
Brunch without booster seats
Sitter at 10:30. You and Mom go to the brunch you actually want — not the one with the kid menu. Back by 2.
Spa afternoon
Sitter at noon. Mom has a massage at 1. She's back at 4 and the kids haven't needed her once.
Lead time
Mother's Day Sunday books out two weeks ahead.
We block Mother's Day morning and early afternoon almost entirely with bookings made two-to-three weeks in advance. By the Friday before, we're full. Don't leave the gift-the-sitter idea for Saturday night.
