Friday night · Brooklyn

The reset, before the weekend even starts.

Friday is the evening you keep meaning to make plans for. Saturday gets the big plans, Sunday gets the recovery — Friday usually gets ordered-in tacos and an episode of something. Booking a sitter on a Friday is what turns it into a real night out.

The Friday vs Saturday math

Friday is easier to grab. Slightly.

Saturday night is the most-asked-for slot we have — it fills fastest and it fills first. Friday is right behind it, but meaningfully looser. A Tuesday-afternoon ask for the coming Friday usually works. Same ask for Saturday is a coin flip.

If your dinner reservation could move, take the Friday. You'll lock the sitter without the calendar gymnastics.

The shape of a Friday booking

Most Friday-night blocks land in the 6 to 10 or 6:30 to 11 window. Sitter shows up around the same time the kids are getting hungry, you're finishing changing out of work clothes, everyone's in motion. Dinner with the sitter, bath, bedtime, and you're back before midnight to a quiet apartment.

Standing Friday

The most-locked recurring slot we have.

A standing weekly Friday — same time every Friday, same sitter — is the single most popular recurring slot among our families. The math is obvious: it's the one night a week you can almost always go out, the kids learn the rhythm fast, and you stop text-negotiating with us every Wednesday.
