Father's Day · Brooklyn
The day off. For real this time.
The mug, the tie, the homemade card with macaroni — keep them. Hand him an afternoon where he picks the activity and nobody asks for snacks. Sitter at noon, Dad gone by 12:15.
The math
Father's Day morning is when the kids hand him the card. Father's Day afternoon is supposed to be his. In practice the afternoon usually turns into a long brunch with the kids, then a nap nobody actually gets, then dinner.
Booking the sitter from noon to 6 fixes that. He gets the morning ritual. Then he gets six hours that are actually his.
What we do with the kids
Playground in the morning, lunch we packed or warmed, quiet indoor block in the early afternoon. If the weather's good, a long walk or the splash pad. We don't plan a parade — we plan a regular Sunday with the kids that doesn't need you.
Father's Day Sunday is also a family-event day for a lot of households — if you want us to handle the kids while the adults do the family lunch, that's a clean booking too.
Lead time
Lighter than Mother's Day, but still book a week ahead. Father's Day Sunday afternoon is a slot we usually have capacity for — but not on the day-of.
